Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort is a rather small mountain but comes with a lot of snow.  The views from the peak can be amazing overlooking mountains and lakes.  The is a est spot offering a 360 degree panoramic view of Lake Okutadami, Oze Park’s Mount Hiuchi, and Mount Echigo-Koma.  It closes for park of the season only to open up again in the spring so be sure to check your dates.  Maybe not the best place to learn to ski if you need an instructor, unless you speak Japanese.

Ski Season Length

Okutadami Maruyama Ski Resort opens from late November and then closes around early to mid January. It then reopens for spring skiing in March. Also, there are some pistes that are only open in the spring. Why does it close? Too much snow. It can be expensive to keep the road open up to the resort.
