Kanazawa Municipal Ski Resort (aka Iozen) – Overview

This is a relatively smallish resort operated by the Kanazawa Municipal Government. It is mostly visited by locals. The resort name is also known by “Iozen Ski Resort”. Regardless, it has tremendous value for kids and families wanting to get out on the snow at a reasonable price. A full day lift ticket is only Yen 1,570. You can even buy lift tickets by the “lift” at Yen 100 yen a pop! Value indeed! If you are new to skiing or still a beginner, you want to stay around the “family lift”.

Is Night Skiing Available?

There is no night skiing available at Kanazawa Municipal Ski Resort.

Ski Season Length & Hours of Operation

The ski season is relatively short here. It is normally open from the end of Dec to the beginning of March. In the 23/24 season, it finished the season on Feb 16th. Hours of operation are from 0830 hrs to 1630hrs daily.

Park, Off Piste and Other Attractions

Sled rentals are available and must be used in designated areas.

Families

The mountain is relatively small and idea for kids and families. Aside from nice beginner terrain, there is also some sledding areas to enjoy.

Rentals

Both ski and snowboard rentals, along with wear, are available to rent. You will need to check them out at 0845 hrs and the equipment must be back by 1615 hrs as they close at 1630 hrs. Rental is available for a duration of 3 hours or 1 day (0845 hrs to 1615 hrs).
