Greenpia Onuma Ski Area – Overview
Located near the southern tip of Hokkaido, Greenpia Onuma Ski Area is a small ski resort with 2 double char lifts, about 4+ km of pistes to ski. The ski are has a max elevation of 441m and a min elevation of 180m for a total vertical of about 261m.
It is also located a few kilometers away from Ōnuma Quasi-National Park. Ōnuma Quasi-National Park features a volcanic landscape, beautiful lakes and surrounded by forests. In the park you can enjoy snow shoeing along with viewing of their Whooper Swans that migrate from Russia.
There are two magic carpets for kids or new skiers and snowboarders. There are also 2 sledding areas.
Ski Season Length & Hours of Operation
This ski area runs from about late December to about the beginning or mid March. The ski area operates from 0900hrs to 1630 hrs (actually, the upper lift closes about 1620hrs) daily plus night skiing that runs up to about 2100hrs (lift will close slightly earlier around 2045hrs). Always best to call ahead to check if it is open if you are skiing early or late in the season.
Rentals
Greenpia Onuma Ski Area offers ski and snowboard equipment rentals along with ski wear. Lessons are offered but I would guess only in Japanese.
Lift Tickets
Lift tickets are sold in a variety of packages. The benchmark adult 1-day pass, excluding night skiing, is Yen 5,000 per day. Night skiing is Yen 1,800 per day for an adult. As usual, you can buy per lift, half day, for you toddlers, students, etc.
Is there Night Skiing?
Yes, there is night skiing running up to 2100hrs.

There is only 1 hotel to stay at the base of the ski area called, LiVEMAX RESORT Hakodate Greenpia Onuma.
